I’m repeating here something I’ve already said more than once in response to similar posts. You don’t have to be at the mercy of the algorithm or the feed. To have more control over what you see, bookmark (in your browser, that is, not in Medium itself) the tags you’re interested in. For example, I’ve bookmarked “Short Story”. Related tags you might find more attractive include “Fiction”, “Writing”, “Flash Fiction” and “Poetry”. To go to the URL for the tag, just add “/tag/short-story”, “/tag/flash-fiction” or whatever to the end of the main Medium URL and bookmark the result.
Then, whenever you want to read something with the relevant tag, just follow the bookmark. Medium will never seem the same.
