Tana French is a superb novelist. I’m rereading The Likeness at the moment and I’m going to reread the others in her series (or, in the case of The Trespasser, read it for the first time), with a view to writing something about them.
I’ve read different books by Liz Nugent (Lying in Wait) and Catherine Ryan Howard (Distress Signals) than the ones you’ve recommended here. In both cases, I was wildly enthusiastic. What I think they’ve got in common is that neither is afraid to put dislikable characters at the centre of her story. My review of Distress Signals is here.
