Thanks for responding. I’ve thought a bit about how I’d go about posting longer stories in several parts, and I think it does require a bit of extra work. It’s possible to “Unlist” posts, which means that they won’t show up in your Profile or in search results. Normally, the only way you’ll see an unlisted page is if you have the URL (which might, of course, be in a link from another post).

So, with a novel, for example, I’d recommend unlisting everything except the first part (where you want people to start) and the most recently posted part (to show you haven’t abandoned it). This means that you have to be sure to put in links between the parts so that readers can navigate from one to the next (and back, if necessary).

I’d also recommend that each part link to an unlisted table of Contents, which in turn links to each part. Here’s the (unlisted) Contents page for my novel A Falling Body, to give you an idea what I mean.
